Dr. Wendy Foster is a Board-certified Small Animal Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist (www.acvim.org). After completing her BSc. (1994) and DVM (2000) at the University of Guelph and Ontario Veterinary College (www.ovc.uoguelph.ca), she completed a Small Animal Internship (2001) at Michigan Veterinary Specialists in Detroit, USA. Dr. Foster then returned to OVC to complete an Internal Medicine Residency and ACVIM Board Certification in 2005.
Dr. Foster worked at the Ontario Veterinary College as a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) during her studies. As an RVT she gained experience in the Small Animal Intensive Care Unit, Department of Clinical Pathology, Anesthesia, and the Avian and Exotics. Dr. Foster's veterinary experience includes work in various private and academic veterinary facilities in Florida, Colorado, Brazil, Germany, and Australia. For the past 20 years, Dr. Foster's companion animal Internal Medicine specialists' services include consultations, abdominal ultrasound, North American telemedicine, and locum positions.
Dr. Foster attends Internal Medicine conferences, specialty webinars, and is a member of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, College of Veterinarians of Ontario, Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Dr. Foster was raised in Kingston, Ontario, and now lives in Uxbridge, Ontario. She lives with her husband, teenage son who admires his two older brothers, and a tabby cat who thinks she is a dog. Dr. Foster enjoys gardening, genealogy, hiking, swimming, and supporting Canadian newcomer settlement. She is a parent to a competitive swimmer and is a volunteer Swim Ontario official.
